Soy Bean Custard
Soy bean pudding or custard (also known as tau foo fa in Cantonese) is a popular dessert in Malaysia. The main ingredients used in making this dessert are soy beans which is made into a custard consistency (tofu like) and served in a sugary syrup (made from white or brown sugar). I prefer my soy bean custard served with brown sugar as I find it more aromatic. The one featured in this photo is a bowl of wonderfully delicious soy bean custard served at a shop called Funny Mountain in the town of Ipoh. That was one of the nicest soy bean custard I have ever eaten. And I am not kidding...judging from the long queue of people waiting patiently in the hot afternoon. What's your favourite dessert?
