Default Hummingbird

Well after i don't know how many hours, i finally got a decent shot at one...............Man these things are though. They don't hold still for anything, and they are so small , you have to be within about 12 to 15 feet to get a clean shot. This one snuck in the back door on me and was backlight, so i really didn't catch the beautiful colors like i wanted. There is always next time.

Wow, great shot. I wouldn't even try to photograph those, I don't have nearly enough patience for that. Why is the background all white? I assume you did that in post?

My goodnes, PT, you can see every feather and the expression in his eye, which looks a little wary! Your patience finally paid off. You do seem to have an extra measure of patience and seem capable of waiting out just about any creature. Very nice!

Thank you nemesis, patience is a must for these little guys. The background is in camera. The subject was backlight. When i metered off the bird(which was real dark from being backlight) , the camera adjusted the exposure for the bird and blew out the sky.

They are hard to shoot. Getting the exposure right is also hard. You did great here.

This one is so well done, I wouldn't think there would be a lot of room for improvement, but knowing your other work, I can't wait for your next hummer shot!

Thank you fred. It took quite a few to get a good one. They are fast as all get out.
