Nice shots. What did you shoot with that they did not notice you and run. Where were these taken?

These are so great! I really like the last one though, he/she is calm, and relaxed without a care in the world. A deer, such in it's element.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments!!!
Peep, they will have their spots untill they grow their winter coat, this fall. Kirb.............I take these in a state park. They are all wild animals and protected from hunting. They are use to people and will let you get within 40 to 50 yards, without running away. Some on the otherhand won't let you get within 80. Just depends on the individual deer. I found that in the fields, they will let me get closer.....................go after them in the woods(they arn't use to seeing people going after them in the woods) and they are back to wild, and gone in a flash. You just have to understand them a little and pay attention to their body language. When you see them get a little jumpy, back off and wait for them to calm down. After they calm down, move a couple steps closer and sit down again untill they relax. I've gotton as close as..................well................this using this method. ![]() This was only cropped a little bit.................the whole deers head wouldn't fit in the frame on the original. This was 300mm not 420mm, also. It's a fun place to shoot deer pics.
