Default Honeysuckle and Basil Flower

I was at my friend Brenda's a few days ago and got some gorgeous pictures of her honeysuckle, and a cute shot on my own patio of what I thought was a basil plant from last year that is flowering.

Thx Wendianne

Very pretty - however, that is not basil. I grow basil in my garden, and I am constantly removing flowers. Once they start flowering, they stop leafing out, and the leaves are the tasty part!

Last year I bought some herbs and put them in a pot, the cilantro came back, the squirrels ate the parsley this spring, and a plant that I thought was basil started growing with the big leaves that looked like basil. The cilantro grew and flowered and seeded, but I became suspicious about the supposed basil when these pink flowers started on them. I know nothing about identifying plants, but this is probably one of those "weeds" that when they come out look like they might be something and turn out to be a weed with pretty flowers on them. I never really was to sure if this was basil this year so I guess I'm lucky I didn't try to cook spaghetti!!

Very pretty! We grow honeysuckle one the side of our water tank housing in Thailand, but I've never seen the colors you have.
Thanks for Sharing these
Michael.

Thank you all for the kind comments

I love honeysuckle, but I'd never seen this color combo before either, usually the color is not so vibrant and varied.

Thx Wendianne
