sorry but it looks like the bird is in a lot of stress.
You talk about wanting to take care of it and try to nurse it till it can be on it's own, how will you go about this when you do not even know what typ of bird it is? You should now think about taking it to people who will know how to look after it like the RSPB or similar. I do not want to sound off, this is just my opinion. Cheers, Ian |

I agree with Ian. Poor guy is way to young to be out of the nest and really needs a lot of attention. My suggestion would be to call around to some rescues and find someone who can take it in. Birds can be touchy. (We've done a few and a few we handed over to rescue) Around here the SPCA's and a lot of the vets offices have the numbers to folks who are able to rehab wild animals.

Great shots, I hope the bird is okay and you find someone to look after it if you can't.

Yes, the bird was under some stress. I have tried multiple time to call our rescue wildlife center and I have yet to get an answer. I have been to the vet and the animal shelter; they told me they couldn't take it and they didn't know if the wildlife center would or not. They gave me a number to reach them. I was told by the vet to feed it mushed up worms and small bits of canned dog food every once in a while. They told me how to do it. I wish we had an SPCA close to where I live... but it is not in this area. I am doing the best I can. The baby bird has eaten all day long and seems to be doing well. I don't think the mother would have kept the baby. It sat outside of work for a whole 8 hours and the mother didn't bother coming to get it. So far the baby is good. I hope that for once I will be able to get it to live and fly off on his own adventures.

Very sweet photos. Please keep us updated on him. We find baby birds here all the time due to the wind blowing them out of the nest and the vets offices here take them. You should try calling the vets in your area. Here once they take them, they deliver them to a wildlife center. Good Luck. Angella
