Default Island Girl

Been a while since I last posted so taking a little time and posting.

This is a shot I did for friend for her daughter's 2nd birthday announcements. It was taken in June at Laguna Beach, CA. I dont like taking pictures of humans but she had seen some of my pictures and asked so what the heck - right? I ended up taking over 300 shots that day and was really happy with most shots. Gave all to her on a contact sheet and she ended up picking several and I had printed up for her. I was happy to be a part of this day, while we were there her mother told me it was the first time she had ever been to the beach and I was proud to be a part of it. I saw this shot and made it sorta old looking using photshop and had it blown up to an 18x24 poster. Mom was very happy with the results. Now her friends all want pictures of their kids and next door neighbor wants me to do birth announcement pictures when her baby is born. Sorta scary - so I am not charging and that way if they are not happy I dont feel bad. But it is good for practice.

Nicely done and congrats on the success, but I would also like to see it in color.

Beautiful shot. And I like what you did with it. You know you are worth getting paid, don't you? At least for your expenses!!!

Thanks Gottasnap. I do keep getting asked to do some for pay, but then I come back to this site and see soooo much better. I would love to be good enough to ask for pay - even expense reimbursement some day.

Very Nice and well composed. You should be very proud of this one and I'm sure the family will be happy with this one for years to come!

That is a great shot. The toning is great. Don't be afraid to charge. Looks to me like you won't have any problem pleasing people.
