Default Long exposure

My first post

Location: Door Couty, WI
Camera: Olympus SP-565UZ
Mode: Shutter Priority -15 secs
Tripod: Yes
Time taken: 11:50PM, July 4th

My friend Sam, used a flashlight to write his name against the cottage.

I can't believe this was your first post and no one commented on it. I was away for a few days...and am going back to see what I missed. first of all, Welcome to DPS...believe it or not, it's a very helpful and supportive forum you're in. But mistakes happen....this is an interesting shot....cool idea. Keep posting....I'd love to see more.

Thanks Leona. I will keep posting, here are a few images.

A few HDRs. Both shots were taken on an Olympus Sp-565UZ using AEB. Layered in Photomatix. Taken in Olbrich Garden, Madison,WI

I really like all three pictures. I can't wait to try the flashlight trick with my kids. I like the second pic better than the first, I think its got more variance in light and colors. Thanks

great pics. I guess I will have to travel a whole 45 mins to get to olbrich garden! lol

so with the cottage one, did you just set the shutter to stay open longer while your friend shined the flashlight against the cottage?

Thanks for all the comments. The camera was set in Shutter priority and set for 15 secs, during which time he wrote his name.

This was the first and only take for this one. I told hime to write his name slowly and don't turn the light off.
