Default Nik filters used in Nikon Capture NX2

Just wanted to share some photos that I took a while back. I recently purchased Nik Color Efex Pro for Capture NX2. It's a plug-in that has multiple filters with a lot of sliders & buttons. It's going to take a while to figure them all out but I like what I see so far. You can use them sparingly or you can go way overboard with them. It's all a matter of taste, I guess.

I thought I would go through some old photos that really weren't keepers but I kept them anyways. You just never know when they might come in handy! Trying out some of these filters & really wanting to go a little overboard to see if I could save these photos by coming up with something completely different than the original intention. Well, some came out looking kind of cool! So here they are.

Those two are okay. Now for the really cool & surreal!

These last two really need to be seen larger so just click on them & it'll take you to Flickr. Go ahead, I double dog dare ya!

Hi Digidave, well I'm not to sure if I like the effects, but I love the expression on the face of that guy, looks like it's going to hurt. That bison looks good, and the purple version of your singer would be my pic, they do look more impressive in large.

What a great tool. Seems that it gives you a lot of flexibility.

I really like the first one of the guitarist. It's just different/surreal enough to catch and hold my attention.

Looks like a fun tool, I'm not sure about the effects either, but I love the action in that 1st photo, that guy looks like he's really about to eat it big time and worst of all He Knows it!!!!

I really like the buffalo pic the best though.
Thanks for sharing these
Michael

Just to clarify a little. In that first shot with the Kayaker, he's about to do a complete somersault. With those really short & wide kayaks they do tricks. So, it's all good.

The guitarist is Kim Simmons of Savoy Brown. He's getting up there in age but he can still play a mean guitar.

I really like the Nik Filters and use them pretty much all the time (Pro Contrast / Tonal Contrast depending on the subject and then others as well, but those are my most used). Looks like you're putting them to good use!

I just got the "Select Edition". So I don't have Pro Contrast or Tonal Contrast. I could see them coming in handy quite often. That Polaroid Transfer looks interesting also. There may be a couple of others in that "Complete Edition" that may interest me. I may have to think about an upgrade.
