with a 1 second exposure u have some detail on candle, but the flame is in blur because is moving. depend on what u want to capture, try to use a flash indirectly to have light on candle for delait, and short time for flame. but is very nice to have strong and focus flame, and only small detail on candle, or viceversa. depends on what u want.
