Default A closer look at what's right in front of you

This is not a themed set of shots per se but rather a collection of other shots that I cobbled together from a couple different days of shooting.....did not get out today to shoot....I was more interested in kicking back and eating a leisurely meal today at lunch..........imagine that!

I have no idea what this is and I am sure that none of you actually care.....

DSC_8545

This is a bloom that just isn't quite there yet.....but beautiful in its own way

DSC_8535

Here's a japanese beetle just kicking back taking a quiet siesta...maybe it's a Mexican beetle!

DSC_8246

Here is a rose, courtesy of the Lowe's garden center.....probably should have shot at f16 or something so that the rear rose would have not been as out of focus at it was....I wanted you to know it was there but the pic was not quite what I had in mind......still on the learning curve here!

Nice collection here Patrick. I have never seen #1 myself but those little buds look so dainty and delicate, I love the softness. #2 looks like a promise yet to come, very beautiful. #3 is a cool looking beetle, love the colors. #4 is such a vivid pink. Really pretty.

Patrick, I LOVE June bugs. This is because I love shiny things especially shiny green, irridescent things like the one right leg with that little spot that sparkles. Uhmm. Feeling 10 years old and it's great! They feel so cool when you hold them in your hand. Okay. Back to feeling nearly 65. Love them all, even the one with the blurry flower. Gives your photo depth.

Very Nice Patrick! Once again your Macro Abilities are being honed; I have no Idea what the 1st is either, but I like it and the beetle is very nice, the colors blend and sooth! I have the same problem with roses; although I love the color or yours; I tend to over expose them and I've yet to caputre one I though was worth sharing. Oh well like you; I will keep on learning and perhaps someday I'll get the settings right!
Thanks for Sharing these
Michael.

These are similar but much smaller than june bugs....about 1/2 the size.

Nicely done! I find the first one to be a very interesting bloom. Each one in this series is great.
