Default Learning to do portraits.

Almost all my shots are flowers, butterflies, bugs and the sort. Since the B&W portrait I've been working on portraits. Since I have three kids, they have been the guinea pigs!

The Boy - Trevor

The Girls - Katie

And Sarah

I'm open to critique if you wish.

All good but Sarah really stand out Very nice Do you have that chemical in your pool that makes the water turn pink if someone pees in it?

Ha Ha yeah it works on the sky too!

Thank you. If you don't mind, I had mixed feelings on my shot of Sarah. The background, seemed to detailed at first look, but then I'm not used to composing portraits.

I like the background on sarah's. I bet Katie loves hers! i think when I was young I would have thought having a picture like that would be really cool

I have to admit Katie's pose cracks me up! (in a good way)

I think the fence is distracting in Trevor's shot. I have the hardest time with that stuff too.

I like Sarah's shot the best too! The sharpness of the background isn't as important as how distracting it is, and wood isn't that distracting.

Thank you. Sarah's the best... I don't have a very good eye for B&W's. Thanks for your comments.

I like the way the wood in the background creates leading lines, drawing my attention to Sarah's face.

And Katie looks like she's proud of how well her plan to turn the whole world pink is going.
