More Foote's Pond Wood park - Morristown NJ
Went back to the park today, did not have the D300 with the 500mm lens and tripod, but had the D300 with the 70-300VR:

really nice set Kirb .. #2 is awesome.. great focus.. hardly any blur on the bird and tuff lighting really well done !
I have yet to even photograph a great blue and we have tons of them around here .. nice to see some good shots of one ! really cool shot of a blackberry ( I think ) .. eery pods and great colors and I LOVE your butterfly .. been watching them fly around and have yet to take a few shots of one, I hope I can come close to your result in #4 ! excellent set, thanks for showing them ! All four shots are really well done! the Heron is beautifully captured and I love the colors and the textures in the Berry picture and the Butterfly pose is great and well composed.

On my bookstand is an autobiography of a man who grew up at Mt. Kemble. I guess it was quite the grand manor in his boyhood. (He is now 97). His father was unable to keep it after the crash in 1929 and they moved up the hill to a more modest place and later their home became the Morristown National HIstorical Park. Is this the park? What a beautiful place and your photos are just wonderful!

Thanks. I don't think this is the park you are talking about. There are several parks around Morristown but I am not aware of one with the name you mention. This one is one James street, you can check it out on Google Maps.
