Default Simply: Doors and Windows

The doors and windows of the Southwest have a special appeal, especially because of their bright color and sense of nostalgia for a by-gone era.

It's all very rustic, western and colorful. Very unusual to see especially for us easterners.....midwesterners or what ever we are! Love the middle shots of the two sets.

Looking at your Beautiful Post reminds me of Jerome! When I get a chance to return to Arizona, I'd love to go back there and just walk around with my camera! It's probably changed since I was last there, some 30 years ago; but I remember some pretty amazing scenery.
Thanks for Sharing these
Michael

Great shots lindy, the first set could easily have been take here. There are a lot of similarities between those and the older architecture here. Even the newer buildings are all brightly colored, of course when everything is made of concrete you have to paint it bright to keep the heat out.The windows here are much different, need to worry about the hurricanes and such.

Lindy, I'm a sucker for old doors and windows and architecture and I can appreciate them so much more when they are photographed and presented with an eye like yours. They are a feast for the eyes!

Lyndi,

These triptychs are soooo nice!
My mom has a thing for doors and windows. She loves to paint oil pictures with that theme. Would you mind me sharing your pictures with her?
If it is OK with you, and if my mom decides to paint one of them I promise I'll take a picture and post it for you here.

Thanks for these Lindy ! I just love the colours and the way you've presented them .. Is there a chance you could share one of those shutters middle lower with the flowers poking through? I went to your flicker but it can size bigger.. thx

These are all very pleasing and well done, Lindy.

For the 2 in the center, do they each lead to courtyards or some other type of open space? They look intriguing.
