Tired of thinking about it, I just went ahead and bought a new lense today. a 100-400m canon.. more money then i should have spent, but life's too short,, on the way home, I made a stop and took some photos..
The Swan Cygnets are shedding thier down, and growing quickly.. I would have to admit they are a bit ugly at the moment.. but they already are working on thier poses.. ![]() not too shabby for beginners doing S shaped necks !! The Great Egret catches a eel, took a while to line it up for the swallow, nice clean image from the new lense ![]() he walked into the shade for me, thank you very much ! Another attempt at an Osprey catching a fish.. no luck for either of us while I was there.. but I got to reach out with the new lense and I got some decent flight shots.. ![]() I've got to get some experiance with the new lense.. but for the first day I'm really pleased. ![]() Hungry and hot and in no mood for people to get close to the nest.. today was busy and although two of us photographers kept our distance, a few sunday strollers walked right up to the pole and pissed off Mommy .. they are lucky they didn't get poo poo on them ! my new photog friend Bob and I looked at eachother and just shook our heads. I need to get more familar with the new lense but I wasn't gonna let the summer go by and still be thinking of buying it, it's already making a difference ! thanks much for taking a look and I hope you enjoy the photos Vin

Great shots, even if it is a Canon not a Nikon Lens
![]() Where on the Island did you take these pictures? Long lenses are great to get bird shots, I recently picked up a Tamron 200-500mm to do the same thing. Keep up the good work.

Vin, marvelous shots with the new lens. Can't wait to see your results when you get accustomed to using it. Soon you'll be raising the bar even higher.

Wow vin, these are some awesome shots!!! The second and fourth are wall hangers for shure. Great job. 400mm deffinately makes a difference. I think you made a wise investment, congrats buddy!! Can't wait to see the next set now!
I'm going in the opposite direction. I'm going to order a wide lens for landscapes 10-20mm. Congrats again, awesome work!! I forgot, at 400mm , you'll get your sharpest images between f/8 and f/11 with that lens. Last edited by PrimeTime; 07-13-2009 at 01:59 AM. |
