Default African Crane

Taken at the Sylvan Heights Waterfowl Park and Eco-Center in Scotland Neck, North Carolina. One of the worlds largest waterfowl reserves, located in a TINY town in Eastern NC. They have an amazing collection of birds, the staff are extremely kowledgable and friendly, and its located in a historic town with beautiful old Victoria homes and surrounded by lovely farms and countryside. I would recommend this place to anyone enthusiastic about photographing birds.

Wow that is one nice crane. It does not look like our cranes. That is a nice looking fellow. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the kind comments. This was a really cool bird. The caretaker was behind the fence w/ him and the crane stayed within a foot of him the whole time, but not in a menacing way ~ it was like he was hanging out w/ him while he worked. When we walked up he did walk over to where we were and checked us out. He followed along while we walked, and it did seem like he was posing for me.
I really love that place!
