Hi guys,
I'm thinking of setting up my own photography website (mainly just to display my own portfolio really) and I know that I can do it for easily and free with Microsoft office live (Store and Share Documents Online | Create a Free Website | Microsoft Office Live). Although does anyone else have any better inexpensive suggestions? Anyhow... I'd like start a thread where you can paste an image of your website's home page and the URL. In particular, I'd like to get an idea of different styles and colour schemes. So, resize your window to a smallish size (1024x800) if possible, hit Alt+PrintScreen (to copy the active window), and paste here. I bet I'm going to stand in awe when I see the results of this thread come through. Look forward to seeing your home page screenshots! Jonathan

I use yahoo. I think it was $9.99 to buy my domain name for a year and then it's like $7 a month. I'm not making any money at this gig yet so tried not to get too much $ invested. I wanted one place to have people go to to get access to my pictures I've been taking at some events. I use picasa online album as my 'photo storage' its free and works for now. I wanted people to be able to download the pictures from events for free.
I just updated it - today actually to start promoting portrait businss. It seems to upload fairly fast with all the graphics I have on it, there are a few things I don't like, but I keep picking away at it. Page Title It's pretty simple, I'd like to do some more graphics and maybe flash displays. I'm working on a few things now, but haven't managed to nail down exactly what I'm looking for yet. The yahoo page builder is really simple and easy to use. (I do not have the skill, time or knowledge to get that into building a web page). This works for now.... it could be better. |

I use smugmug, which offers some customization options, lots of forum help on implementing the customizations, and pretty low cost (~$150 a year, as I recall). The URL is below.

I also us smugmug but I had a 1/2 off code so mine was about $75 for the year. Then I purchased my own domain name for about $10-. I have made my money back! See the link below or go to Starkimagesgallery.com
Good luck to you know matter which way you go!
