Default Northern Pig Tail Macaque

Good Morning from Korea DPS family!
On the 3rd of July we visited Khao Yai National Park in Thailand; We drove to the Haew Suwat waterfall. On the way out of the park, we saw this family of Macaques crossing the road. I had my Sigma 150 - 500mm on my camera at the time, so we didn't have to get too close as they can be a little unpredictable. Of course you are not allowed to feed them, but some people always break the rules and there have been pretty serious injuries because people think they are not dangerous. The males can weigh 10.4Kg-24.0lb and the Females 13.7-Kg-32.0lb.

This Female came quite close, but the others stayed back or ran into the Forrest.

I have to remember to frame my shots better, I was focusing on the eyes and forgot to get the hands and feet! Forgive me; I'm still learning!.

Hey, Michael, These guys have such a primal, don't even think about it, look in their eyes. So much in life gets domesticated. It's a spine tingling joy to see pure wildness!

Good Afternoon Lindyanna! Yes it is! I will be spending many hours in Khao Yai when I retire; there are still wild Elephants, Tiger, Wild bulls that I'm told can weigh 4000 lbs. plus hundreds of other creatures and over 130 varieties of Birds. It's a photographers paradise!

Oh, my. And here I thought alligators were menacing. These guys definitely let you know to stay away. I just love taking that peek at wildlife. Thanks for sharing that.

First off ....Hello Korea from Long Island , New York ! ( I love when you do that in your posts) cause we are WORLD WIDE !!!

Outstanding wild nature Micheal.. the 2nd and 3rd shots are wonderful, such great color and clarity ! ( I wonder if you might try and tigher crop around the face to see what it looks like ) regardless I am caught in the gaze of this magnificent animal, just stunning !

You've nothing to be forgiven for, just sharing such amazing creatures with us more then makes up for it not being up to your standard, there is alot of value in you pointing out " I missed, but given another chance, I will not miss again " and deciding to post them anyway, everyone here strives to improve and you've already shown us your results when it all comes together.. so who cares ? lol

thanks very much for sharing them, very cool subject !!

Vin

Chewy, those last two shots are really good. The framing really helps to keep you into the photo.

BTW, good to avoid contact with them. They are Primal. A women in Connecticut had her face and ears torn off by a domesticated chimpanze. She had to undergo a face transplant and other medical procedures.

Wow, great images Michael. I wouldn't worry about the hands and feet too much. They are way cool.

Hi Vin! Thanks for the Encouraging comments! I've added a portrait, it's a little soft, but still not bad.
