Bird by Herself

I was going to go to Quickpoint Preserve on Longboat Key, FL to shoot today, but the weather turned crappy (and I DID have lots to do at home anyhow) - so I decided I'd post these from another time I went there - when it was sunny!

Wait. They have "crappy" weather in Florida? Never heard of such a thing. I digress. The single egret is a wonderful photograph. There's something so wonderful about solitude aided by sky, beach, surf and a fellow introvert. Interesting that the bird in the second photo is naturally saturated to black and white. Even his feet are black.

Of course we never have crappy weather. Neither do you! Ha. I remember the gull. She looked at me, then turned her back and proceeded to walk back to the water. Made me laugh at the time. I like the solitude. It's kind of a mirror of the photographer, don't you think?

The 1st one is amazing! The effect of the lone bird in the backwater with the ocean in the distance works for me!
The 2nd is the story of my life, Seagulls with their backs to me!

Nice shots particularly the first. I can never get the egrets to sit still long enough to photograph them.
