Default Alaskan Grizzly bears and grey wolf!

From our recent trip. These were taken in Denali National Park and Preserve. Renting the 100-400mm lens was perfect!

This mom and cub wandered relatively close to the bus, while the wolf was farther away. We were told that seeing a wolf is extremely rare, let alone one on a kill. We felt very lucky. I would not have been able to capture them as well without the rented lens. Please click to check out the entire set from the trip!

Sorry for the poorer quality with this wolf. It is a crop taken from a shot that was already at 400mm. He was pretty far away.

You could actually see him growling at this crow that was trying to sneak a bite of his caribou. Very cool.

That's amazing. To be that close...much closer than I would want to be I'm sure. Really great stuff.

We drove through Wasilla on the way up to Denali. We actually stopped at the grocery store there for some supplies. Seems like a cool place to live, but I bet the winters get pretty cold.

What a great experience! And some very good shots, too. Did the bears look as huge in person as they do in these photos?

They looked big enough that I was glad to be inside a bus. We did get out and hike some, and you certainly have to keep aware of your surroundings. Very exhilarating knowing animals like this are wild around you.

Great shots of a grand experience. Grizzly and wolf in the wild, that's as good as it gets.

I am totally in awe. What a great set of images Jprime. Love all of them but the wolf on a kill is just absolutely amazing! Great captures!
