Arrow Meet Jenni

A coworker modeled for me during our lunch hour the other day, and I wanted to share some of my favorites so far. I was really pleased with the way they came out of camera, but even more excited to see how they turned out with some minor enhancements.

I really love taking portraits, and am working on getting (natural) lighting and exposure correct in camera to minimize the processing work. Maybe...someday...someone will actually pay me to take their pictures, but for now, I'm happy to see how my skills are improving across the board.

Thank you for looking. I do hope you enjoy them. I'd really appreciate your comments and feedback. There are several others on flickr (link to set), and if you have any critique for me, please leave it for me there. I'm definitely open to tips on what I could improve! Thanks so much!!!

PS: These were taken at 1pm, so there are definitely some hot spots as a result.

You had a beautiful model to work with. They are all wonderful. I would like to see more of her smiling. Good work on the lighting with this being right in the middle of the day.

These are lovely Aimee. You had a very natural model. Lovely poses and very nice work. And a lovely smile to finish off the set. Well done, you did a great job.

Dave.

Indeed, she is very pretty and quite natural despite her feeling weird about being in the middle of town posing for pictures! There are several other images on flickr where she's smiling more, but for some reason I kept gravitating to the more serious looks. Thank you so much for your comments.

Aww, thank you, Dave! I agree, she was very natural. I just let her do her own thing mostly. We might try again at a time later in the day; I'm hoping we can get a little more creative and spontaneous with her poses next time.

Thank you, nP! I'll admit, #2 is my absolute fave. I was in a slump there for a while, but the weather this week inspired me. Then, of course, on this day the temp climbed up over 90 with barely a cloud in the sky! You keep snappin and posting pics of your little girl; I never tire of her sweet face.

Nicely done! A beautiful smile on the last one. I would like to attempt some portraits but my wife runs when she sees me with the camera and my golden retrievers won't hold still long enough!

Thank you Mike! I have that same won't-hold-still-long-enough problem w/ my 2 year old!
