Default Boring Beetle

Boring beetles are very frightening looking, but they are fairly harmless. Unless of course your a tree.

This guy is about 2 and a half inches long with it's antenna. I never noticed the pointy barbs just behind the head.

As you can see. This creature really is black and white in a color world.

Until next time, thanks for stopping by.

I saw boring and I thought boring as in uninteresting. Then I thought, that couldnt have been right, because hes very interesting. Ever since I was little, I've always been fascianted with interesting looking bugs. This, is definatly an interesting looking bug. So, thank you,...you've inadvertantly indulged my curiousity.

Whats not to like about this little fella, unless you're made of wood.
I prefer the first picture and like the contrast between the red and the rest. Great lines, focus and DoF, great job Tom

Great capture. It almost looks like he is pondering hole and thinking about making it any bigger.
