Two sunset photos taken on a whim. Don't you love those whimsical, spontaneous moments when, by some force, you also have your camera with your to bear witness to the wonder!
in my rear view mirror the sun is going down sinking behind bridges in the road and i think of all the good things that we have left undone P. Floyd ![]() I drove to what seemed like a desolate spot on top of a hill near work last Friday night to catch this sunset. Imagine being startled by the hissing sound of...sprinklers? Scared for me at first and then mother-bear protective of camera. But first a photo! “I didn't ask for it to be over, but then again, I never asked for it to begin. For that's the way it is with life, as some of the most beautiful days come completely by chance....' ![]()

They are both so beautiful. The second just takes my breath away, it's as if I'm standing right there and experiencing the moment!

Whimsy and spontaneity are my middle names! These are superb and I'm glad you acted on your whim! The first one is spectacular, I adore the cool blue on the one side and the warm gold on the other as the day gives way to the night. I love the play of light on the water from the sprinkler in the second. Marvelous images!!!

Wow Lindy...
these are awesome shots.. the reflection in the rear view mirror is so sharp.. and the glare in the second one is simply brilliant.. even the sprinklers look to be running away from that "all-engulfing fire"

I wish I had the talent to express in word what you showed in both pictures.
Unfortunately, I don't have the talent and I dont have the time (my wife is calling me...) So I'll just say: AWESOME! and keep the rest for another day. Oh. I understand you are a desert and cacti fan. Please take a look at my thread: King for a day (http://digital-photography-school.co...-king-day.html) I would greatly appreciate your input.

Beautiful color Lindy, I really like the contrasts and juxtapositions in the forst one. Watch out for those sprinklers... I was surprised once in my own front yard...lol, I jumped and grabbed the camera. Must of looked funny from across the street.
