Default a good idea at the time

a good idea at the time

a good idea at the time

Always carry your camera because you never know what you might come across.

If ever proof were needed

this is not a staged shot
no young persons suffered any injury as a result of what you you see
the only editing removed a plastic bottle floating on the water
and please, do not try this (jumping into unknown water) yourselves

Great capture way to be in the right place at the right time. I like your PSA. LOL

Great shot as always beach - how do you always have your camera on the right settings?

Just started me wondering how many things have I done that I thought were a good idea at the time....only to then splash down ignominiously!

I have the full set of five on flickr

Did I know he was going to jump ?
I'd been watching him for five minutes before he did it, and I nearly missed it then, at least I had chance to set the camera

thanks for comments

Seriously beach, how are you always ready to click a brilliant shot? I would've taken at least 5 min to be ready if ever presented with such an opportunity. And by that time, i'm sure this young man would'be been swimming out of the canal/river and would not have obliged me with another jump..

Your versatilatily in taking beautiful composed shots as well as such such candid shots is awesome.

I was lucky and had time before he jumped and my settings were pretty good. I had been down there for about an hour taking other pictures. I rarely use a tripod and have a very lightweight Nikon D40
Thanks harsh
