Default Black and whites and orange

I rarely take portrait shots because I've always found them extremely difficult, but a few days ago i was practicing with black and white portraits... let me know what you think, if you want to critique feel free even though this isn't the section... and i just really liked the way the lily photo turned out so i thought i'd share that too

Bearly, I think you need to rethink your ideas about portraits. Difficult or not, you did a wonderful job with this lovely young woman and, clearly, a lovable dog. You get a sense of their personhood...you know what I mean about the dog. Your lily is beautiful, too. So pretty against the blue!

I like your sister, the dog could maybe use the background darkened a little so he stands out more. But both are good, the composition is nice and the range of tones is pretty wide.
