Default Chirk castle

Taken a while back in May sometime. My local castle so to speak as its only down the road from where I live. I know its more a record shot rather then something arty but I like it nevertheless. Hope you do too. xxx

I think castles are fascinating. Great subject. You are lucky to live right down the street from this beautiful sight. Very nicely captured. This would make a great HDR subject. I personally don't know how to do that but have seen many beautiful examples here on DPS.

I know this castle very well I to have tried to shoot this one and where you have taken this one from is really the only spot you can shoot this side of the castle from. You have done a really good job on this shot. Thanks for sharing.

Great catch! Have you tried HDR? I think this scene will be perfect for high dinamyc range.

Just a quick copy and paste from the National trust website lol.... Hope this is of interest...

Chirk Castle is a 700 year old marcher fortress, which commands fine views over the surrounding countryside. (and 9 counties) It was built in the late 13th century by Roger Mortimer, Justice of North Wales for Edward 1. The castle was sold for 5,000 UK pounds to Sir Thomas Myddelton in 1595 and his descendants continue to live in part of the castle today
