While I was near the Vancouver Art Gallery, I decided to shoot some details of the Hotel Vancouver, which is across the street from the gallery. This was the third hotel to bear the name "Hotel Vancouver," and was built in 1949. The elements I photographed tend to be gothic in nature, which is quite a change from the Edwardian style of the second Hotel Vancouver that was built in 1917. I was hoping to get a higher vantage point so I could get closer to these fine details, but I think I did okay from the ground with my 55-250 lens.

Thanks,, Jake! I never even thought about "taking you from the large to the small". It just happened! Always something to think about, though. Cheers.
