Default Night Blooms

Howdy all. I would like to start by saying Thank You to everyone who shared their fireworks photos, tips and advice. Here are 2 pics of my first attempt at photographing fireworks. I think I was very fortunate to find a show in a small town (Superior, AZ) with very little city lighting. That allowed me to use shutter speeds up to 8 secs without over exposing. Timing was the hardest part of the experience. Several times I exposed the launch, and the shutter closed right at the onset of the display. I found very little exposure difference in the firework display resulting from shutter speed. This led me to the conclusion that through the aperture and the ISO, the exposure can be set leaving the shutter speed primarily for effects.
Thanks to your advice on ISO, aperture and shutter speed, I had a great starting point to work from and feel very pleased and successful with the photos I took.
Have a great day.
