Oh my. This brings back memories from more than twenty years ago. My wife and I went to the Riverfront in Tulsa for the fireworks show. Roaming through the crowds of people we found an area that was a great location that seemed to have very few people. We spread out our blanket and sat down, discussing our good fortune at finding such a great location. Quickly we noticed a young couple, very young - probably fourteen - making out with a lot of passion.
Okay, it wasn't the age that was causing people to flee. It wasn't even that one was black and one was white that was causing alarm. It was that they were both boys. Looking at those photos, I see some buildings that I recognize. I can't remember the name, but the building 'with the cowboy hat' was always one of my favorites. The BOk building was always a destination because of its shopping mall and ice skating rink. It also looks like Center Plaza Condiminiums is visible, that is where we lived but it was apartments then. I also remember the round apartment building. I enjoyed my years in Tulsa. Thanks for posting the photos.

Thanks all! Bobby, I think the building you're referring to with the cowboy hat is the Midcontinent Tower. It's the beautiful building with the green patina top and it's my favorite too, but that may be because my husband works there. Also visable is the Phil Tower. It's usually white, but at Christmas they change the lights to a multicolor. I alsolove the downtown and have several more pictures on Flickr page if your're interested. Unfortunately, our fireworks were cut short due to a mishap. One of the fireworks shifted and hit the other fireworks making the big display you see in the finale picture.
