Default Pressed into Service (fireworks)

Had a great 4th of July, every year there is a Art show down main street in my little town, went this afternoon with my family, we viewed quite a few professional Photographers... some were amazing, some not so good, none the less I had to hear from each of them how someday Uncle Vin's gonna be there too ! some of the work I saw selling for $150.00 for a 18x12 was comical .. some for $20 were worth every penny .. it's quite interesting what people charge !

My neice remided me that I would have to wait a whole year before getting to shoot fireworks.. so after pigging out all day on bar-b-que and wanting to take a nap, I kept thinking of her telling me I should go, and off I went..

Fireworks2
some good ones... alot of not so good ... it's HARD to get the timing right

Fireworks3
I didn;t really get any practice in, so I was concentrating on compostions.. next year I'll improve my techical skills

Fireworks1
it was a bit surreal for me, " I'm actually shooting fireworks " was lot of fun ( I felt no pressure at all )

FireWorks
I really liked this one.. I have to become more skilled at such a unique type of photography..I sometimes have to remind myself I've only been student for 6 months and Fireworks are pretty tough

thanks for taking a look.. hope everyone's have a great weekend !

Vin

Fireworks are really tough! I won't try it again without the tripod. But, you did a great job.

That first one is gorgeous! I opted for the nap and missed them. Now, I'm wishing that I would have went.

I love your fireworks photos Vinam, my favouites are 2 and 3. They have to be easier then birds to take shots of, I've never tried.

Those are some nice shoots Vin. I have shot a couple of fire works displays. Here is the way that I do it, I get my tripod, set up the camera, sit in a chair, watch the fireworks while enjoying the show as well. Remote shutter releases help alot.

Thumbs up well done

Having attempted taking photographs of fireworks myself (operative word is attempted) I think you have done a wonderful job, the pictures have turned out well. The colours are wonderful.

Thanks

thanks Ruthie, I can honestly say I lack the proper way to do them correct, but I got a few pretty light patterns that i'll add to the collection LOL .. and I was 50/50 on the take a nap - go thing ..since it took 1-1/2 hours to get out of the parking lot ( and I left early ) it wasn't a smooth evening !... next year you have to go , I'm writing this down !!

I got to see them, I was using my remote, not that it helped in the timing, I missed most of the time but was having fun anyway ,I wasn't expecting " WoW " shots, point me at a bird and I'm in my element lol .. I like thinking about " next time " , a little better prepared and experianced , we'll both hit a few out of the ballpark ! thanks for commenting

Dave.
thanks Dave, I am surprized I got a few to be honest, kinda just went for it in the blind, so I missed the long light trails and I was way too slow framing.. but I gained alot of insight... I got enough decent ones to share some...

the one thing I realized at the art show was there were alot of people looking, but no one really buying, so whatever price they put on thier little labels really didn't matter. Everyday here in SYS we see images that blow away some of the hack and slash I was seeing lol.

For you, anytime you want one of mine, it's free postage and everything ! except the signed pieces, those vary from $1.00 to $10,000.00 depending on how much the market will bear

...

thanks everyone

Vin

thanks everyone ..
