OK Ruthie posted her greenery lake pics that she took while we were standing beside each other so here are my versions. Granted they look like crap next to hers but she is a PRO and I am just a beginner.....

Those look pretty good Tony. I like the drops of water hanging on leaves.

Well since you hangout with one of the " example setting photographers " we have here.. it's completely unfair to even hint at comparing, alot of the members here never miss a Ruthie Post because we learn so much from her. That being said ,
You have a good eye for textures and colors.. the dark shades of green and the highlighted water drops make an interesting view. The first three are like a study of verticle lines and color tones and well worth exploring. The last photo shows good Bokeh and very tight selective focus ( on one berry ! ) very interesting... of course that bright red and all the green go perfectly together. I can see in your set what you were after, your photos make sense and that's basic element of a good photo ( why am I looking ) .. images don't form themselves. It takes time, practice, learning and quite a few thousand shutter clicks to really break it open .. everyone here started somewhere, the important thing is to keep at it, it never quite gets easy, but the photos get better ... you already have an exceptional teacher with Ruthie and are well on your way ! Glad it stopped raining and looking forward to your next post Vin

Vinam, THANKS for the positive feedback. And YES Ruthie is teaching me WELL I owe her like a million dollars for all that she has taught my wife and the boatload she has taught me in just a few shorts weeks. She is AMAZING!!!! that is for sure....
I was on vacation all this past week and I think we went out shooting with her 2 or 3 times but next week it is back to work so my picture taking will slow down dramatically. I am gone from the house almost 13 hours a day Mon-Thurs but luckily I have Fri-Sun for my new hobby
