Wink I am the worst bird watcher.

Because I don't know any of the names of the birds I find. I just love taking photos of them as they are very challenging to get shots of. If you do happen to know the names please feel free to share as I am always happy to learn a little from my sharing.

Thanks for looking!

Great photos...you wouldn't happen to live in Alberta? I found all the birds you shot in my Birds of Alberta book.

#1 House Sparrow
#2 American Robin (not yet mature)
#3 Eastern Kingbird (I think)
#4 either a female Warbler or female Western Tanager

Close! I live in Saskatchewan, Alberta's flat neighbor. Thanks for checking into the names for me!

Great set of shots you captured them well

the first one is a chickadee
the second is a baby Robin Red Breast (they migrate for the winter .. always know it's almost spring when you see these guys coming back)
third no clue but really good shot
and fourth is a gold finch

Thanks for the all the help on identifying these critters. And thanks for all the kind compliments! I am going to invest in a bird handbook to keep in my camera bag me thinks.

Travis, great shots on all of these. I also am an ignorant when it comes to birds. Know the mammals, but nothing about birds. They are my main subject for shooting now as nothing much else here to shoot as wildlife goes. Anyway I use a book and a flickr group Flickr: Bird Identification Help Group these guys can identify anything and it's like a contest among them to see who gets it id first. Just FYI if you want to use it.

The Sibley Guide to Birds. Seriously. That's the one you want.
