Here are my final 3 shots that I came to for the B&W assignment. I ended up using the first one, but I liked all 3 enough to share them.
The B&W was done in lightroom, I tweaked the saturation bars until I was happy with it, first time using the program - it beats my previous picasa a bit. ![]() First two are my youngest daughter, the third is my older daughter on the back of my bike, with her friend on the front. ![]() ![]()

i think the 1st one is the best choice is well. the shadows look nice and you wonder where and what she's looking at.

Thanks all. It's good to see that my final choice was the popular one. I've never been much into portraiture, usually focusing on interesting close-ups of found objects, nature etc. It feels good to try something else and have some success.
