The first one with the lock and shadow is really neat. I like the placement and angle of the lock, but it might look a little better maybe brightened up a bit. The second one with the squirrel......uhhhhh.... yeah, I'm not sure what to say about that one!!!!!

the lock is very well done. I like the creativity. the way the shadows work, you could use that for a romanitic card, something about unlocking a heart.
the intimate animal moment is very well composed, I think. the background adds a lot to it. although it does look like the focus is on the branch and the squirrel is slightly blurred.
out of curiousity, have you taken art classes?

You've done well with the lock. I like the contrast and the composition.

i like the symmetry made by the shadow of the lock so nicely done. the squirrel is distracting to my eyes because of that background even though it's not in focus. all those lines seem to draw my eyes away from the squirrel a little sometimes. let me know what u think of my opinion. i'm just a beginner.

the lock one is a really well composed pic

as for the squirrel one, a slightly higher vantage point maybe would've helped..

I tried cropping and doing a lil PP. lemme know if u want me to take this down.

My workflow in CS3 was :

1. crop
2. adjustment layer - levels
move both left/right sliders till they touch the curve
3. adjustment layer -
try ot create a slight S curve
4. adjustment layer - hue/saturation
saturation = +8
5. copy the background layer
5. filter > sharpen > smart sharpen

cheers,

harsh

I really like the composition of the lock photo, but the squirrel seems out of focus. There are many great tutorials on this site. Click on "Forum" and then on "Digital Photography Technique". Welcome to DPS, and good luck!
