Default Is that a ghost in the photos?

Hi!

I had the strangest experience last night when during some test shots - which I reviewed this morning - I seem to have caught a distinct figure reflected on glass.

The pic sizes (unaltered) are rather large so I have not attached them here. However the unaltered photographs along with details can be seen on my blog - click below.

Blungle

If you have a thought or opinion on the ghostly reflections please tell me about it.

many thanks,

deva

Interesting, but since I don't believe in ghosts...can't say what it is. You might have more luck with those who do believe and I know there are plenty of people who do.

I completely dismiss the ideas of ghosts, spirits, demons, and specters as pure mythical, mystical, and superstitious rubbish, so I would not even include those in consideration. The brighter reflection appears to be an article of clothing or towel or curtain hanging on a wall or piece of furniture, probably to the very far left of the goblet. Since the glass is almost spherical in shape, the convex surface facing you can cause very distorted reflections from that direction. The shape of the "ghost image" follows the curvature of the glass The photos are not exactly the same - - the amount of liquid nor the exposures are the same judging from the photos. It is not unusual, in taking photos of curved surface objects, particularly when convex toward the lens (drinking glasses, beads, even water droplets) to see a reflection of the photographer, camera, lighting, etc.

Thanks for your comments! To set facts straight I can only say that to the left of my shooting position there is a plain bare wall a few feet away. Behind me there is a large drawing room with leather furniture. There is no fabric, curtains etc. in the area except to the far right which has a blue curtain in a recessed window (not visible from the shooting place) - and there is a short fringed curtain on the far right - which again is not even in the same direction as the curve of the glass. I was wearing a purple pajama and a striped grey shirt - nothing like the shrouded appearance caught in the glass reflection. And yes you are right, the photos are not exactly similar - I have selected three which were most clear from a set of about 40 photos which I shot last night. The others are all both on my camera and on my computer - and can be viewed by anyone who wishes. Most of the earlier photos have no image and the latter photos have it. I do not know what to believe .. just want to share this ...

Cheers!
