Default Reviving the Past

These photos were taken in Tam-awan Village. It is located in the mountains. The Village is a cultural preserve showcasing authentic traditional indigenous mountain people or Ifugao huts in a replication of their original setting in the mountains. When I went there it was actually very dark already (just used a long shutter so it still appears bright), and I was the only tourist left roaming around the mountains. Kinda scary experience for me considering I was walking on slippery rocks and soil carrying a tripod in a dark environment. What a memorable experience.

An example of the huts where the natives used to live. Now tourists can rent it for a night stay..

Scary bridge. Didn't actually cross this. I went around it instead haha..

Trying to blend with the modern world hehe..

Examples of native sculptures and art..

Hope you like them. Thanks for viewing!

Paulq, It looks like you had a wonderful time and came back safe without tripping over your tripod. And with photos that are an artful expression of a fun day. The tunnel of lush green leaves and the wooden bridge looks so inviting. It's one of the invaluable parts of this forum, that is, being invited into new worlds with kind and talented people like yourself.

Paul these are excellent captures of this lovely preserved village. I particularly like the one of the bridge, yes that looks scary. Love the colour in the third one too. You handled the camera well my friend. Thank you for sharing this lovely village.

Dave.

Hi Dave. I really loved their idea of rebuilding the village. It gives so much history to the place. Yes, it was really a scary bridge. It looks as if it would sway a lot hehe. Thank you for your comments!

I was really glad I was able to circle the mountain and come out in one piece haha. The place is quite spooky at night. The bridge really looked so inviting, but I don't regret not crossing it haha. I really agree, I have seen so much from ohter places from this forum. I really love DPS! Thanks Lindy!

Thank you! The only problem is the huts don't have aircon! But I guess the experience would be worth it, a night away from civilization hehe.

I really agree that it was really good to preserve the place. Their maintenance job is actually very good. Thank you Hayward!

A different world, a different culture but what remains the same on dps is the terrific pictures. I can see the world from my computer, these are outstanding.

Paul, I enjoyed my trek to the mountains with you. I like all four shots. The benches with the rope lights is extremely colorful and inviting. I don't think I would want to walk acrooss that bridge, especially with a tripod. The vine on that bridge looks much like Kudzu! Thanks for sharing.
