What a great adventure and seems so fitting to undertake it in a Bug! Great job and thanks for sharing!

Sounds like a great adventure..i just regret that when we drove from Indiana to san diego, that i wasnt really into photography. Now i think of all the great photos i could have taken. Not sure if i would do it in a Bug, we were in a cadillac and that was still tough..the flower is gorgeous and its amazing how beautiful the desert really is....great photos and i really enjoyed them

Beautiful set. I love the desert flowers. And the Bug is great! What a way to travel. I had one about 20 some years ago. I miss it! And, is that the hiway where you roll out a small town in Colorado and see a sign that says "NO SERVICE NEXT 100 MILES"? And they mean NONE. No stations, no phone service, very few other cars. NOTHING but an occasional vulture over the desert. I have been there before. Thanks for sharing your trip!

thanks for all the comments guys!!
@lputman, fstopMike, jack russell & Haj: it was a great adventure... i had a few car problems, but for the most part i loved just cruisin' across the country in that Bug @pjflan: those roads were so crazy straight! i started looking at the odometer when i got on a long stretch and sometimes it was up over 20 miles without a single curve in the road... the longest i remember was 27 miles!! @Chewys: the desert is sooo beautiful. so many people just think there's nothing to see out there, but they couldn't be more wrong... i love it @angeleyes: i was almost regretting taking the Bug at the very beginning, because the starter and generator died on back to back days, but luckily i was near VW spe******ts both times, and after that i had no problems. i only wish that i had more time to stop and explore and snap photos, but i had to make it back by a certain time so i pretty much had to just keep on going. oh well, there will always be other photo-roadtrip opportunities for each of us in the future i'm sure @gottasnap: yes. it was that road. i saw one of those signs pretty much every time i passed through a town... "NO SERVICE NEXT 100 MILES", "NO SERVICE NEXT 83 MILES","NO SERVICE NEXT (insert some ridiculously large number here) MILES"
