Beach, You are the master. All of us see lots of sunset pictures posted here and they are usually well done. This one has everything...some clouds across the sun, beautiful colors, a ship just to the left, tremendous highlights, perfect exposure. What sets it apart (and I mean way apart!) is that the whole is more than the sum of the parts, and that speaks volumes about the composition. Rarely have I seen one as good as this, either in real life, or on the wall somewhere.

You really are a terrible photographer Beach!!! always inspired by your work but unfortunately I'll have to wait until about September before I can get any sunsets over the sea and when I do i'm sure my efforts will pale into insignificance compared to yours - but i will keep plugging away as I aspire to match you and you continue to give me such great encouragement - people like you make this forum work - with your words and you images

A public thank you

Steve - the quality of your images is always one higher than the one before .. this is the difference and what makes your photos stands above the crowd .. this image here is no exception .. I can go on and pick out the different elements in the photo - but you knew that .. that is why you took this image .. an outstanding photo and is typical of the quality of your work - superb
