Default The rejects

These are a couple of shots I took for the assignment that I didn't use. I love the colour.

The thing I really like about abstract photos or paintings is the way you can just explore color, shape and texture without being tied to a subject matter. The bane of the abstract artist is the question "what is it?" I've always been fascinated by the way blue and orange vibrate when placed side by side, especially seen in your second photo. The triangular shapes within the circles also move your eye and create interest. Well, you get it. I really likethese shots!

You will have to go and have a look pj. I had fun doing them that's all that matters.

Thanks Lindy, the strange thing is I don't really like abstract art, not all but most. I know I'm in the minority here you just have to see what sells at art shows. However, I am finding a great interest in producing abstract images from the camera. I love the different shapes and colours, I am always amazed at what can be produced from an everyday object. It is also a challenge to create a photo, I am enjoying myself, although I think the family might fell a bit neglected.

Isn't this just the best part of photography, such a subject process and the opportunities to challenge ones-self appear limitless.
I like your rejects Michele, they are simple and effective, and the fact you're enjoying enjoying yourself must be a good thing

Thanks Beach. I am finding myself thinking more and more about the "what if I tried this?"
It's helping me kept my sanity at the moment with all the extra people and animals in the house. So keeping myself busy and occupied is a very good thing.

Michelle, I minored in Art History, long ago and far away on a distant planet. I didn't like abstract art then--not even a little bit--but I have noted a growing fascination with it since I picked up photography. There's something intriguing that happens when you see shape, form, color, texture apart from a representation or an emotion. I hope your post will encourage others to try their hand. Have you noticed Chip's abstract posts. He's getting some really interesting results. Maybe start an Abstract thread?
