Default A walk by the river... (again) =)

Well I was sent my new toy yesterday by a friend who got a DSLR

(jealous much me nooooo), but he has sent me his S700 for very very little so I went to play (as you do) 250 shots later I was home (most were for HDR and trial shots as I have never had Apertutre priority and Shutter priority to play around with ... So first stop was a river rapids to try the silky water effect

To get to the river is nice walk beside some growing crops

And for sheer awwww factor whilst lookng at the castel and trying the bracketing... I spotted a few of these guys my old camera would never Zoom in enough to get this littel guy he was below me in a field about 25 M away or so now I have 10* Zoom ...

Finally a right cow was wondering what on earth I was doing as I wandered about so I shot her portrait to share...

More to follow when I have done some owrk to them I guess lol ... great things new toys cannot wait to get the hang of it more. Hope you all enjoyed.

Sorry if the size too big I have resized in photobucket to 800*600 ? Hopefully it has worked ....

Wow, you have four great shots. The silky water is a wonderful shot, and I am partial to cows so I love that one.

Count my favorite as the second one! The composition of that shot is just AWESOME.

Wait a minute. These are your "trial" shots? Now who's jealous? Jeepers FoG, these are put-a-frame-around-'em-and-hang-them-on-a-wall good. I'm especially wild about #2. Color, lighting, composition and wonderful texture all combine to make this infinitely more than a trial shot. Well done.

Great water!!! If these pics are any indication, you will be a happy man for quite a while......The priority modes are great and you will get much more creativity as your water shot attests to.

#2 is really nice -- could the horizon use just a smidge of straightening? For #1, were you hand-holding or using a tripod?
