Default Sunset in Des Moines

New to this... just bought my first d-slr and having a blast learning.

welcome to the club! You are only learning? gee, you can go straight to the head of the class. The photo without the bird would have been exceptional but with it, it is an added bonus...several hits on the water to get airborne and disturbing the quiet tranqility....a really wonderful image to look at!

Welcome to DPS David! It might be your 1st DSLR, but your not new to Photography! That's a very well composed shot. Love the colors and even the bird taking off being just out of focus adds to the mood and creates an overall pleasing capture.

this is an amazing shot.. brilliant colors, awesome reflection, and the ripples in water breaks the calmness in a very refreshing way..

Des Moines is right on the mississippi river, in iowa.

Uh, No...its about 2-3 hrs from the Mississippi smack in the middle of Iowa...
