Default one of my best

hey all i was getting some A4 prints done and i found this image from last year and thought i would share, its definitely in my top 10 snaps

it was taken in Cambridge (UK) and then colour popped in the Gimp by duplicating the layer and converting it to B&W some touch ups and then the area i wanted to be colour was rubbed out on the top (B&W) layer enjoy

hmm, I'll have to think about that one.....I'll have to see the color version and the full bw version. I am guessing that I would love the full bw version. The umbrella is almost too distracting. But the art of selective coloration is a neat variation of photography. Maybe if the umbrella colors were muted some? Kudos though for being brave to go out there and experiment with your shots....I am not there yet!

Ok, how do you do that?

I duplicated the layer and desaturated to get B&W. I added transparancy. Now I can erase away part with the pink eraser. Being extremely uncoordinated, if I erase outside the lines, how do I put that part back?

(School teachers always complained "Tommy can't color.")

Great shot, I love what you did with it. I recently did a black/white conversion and then added a bit of
color, I think its addictive, yours turned out great. Thanks for sharing it.
