Question Some people think this was real

Am I Pretty?

This was a picture I took of a mannequin at a retro store here in Ann Arbor. I changed the tone of the skin color to give a more muted natural appearance since the lighting in the store was very warm. Even with white balance correction I couldn't get the skin to not look like an orange. I then changed the lip color from rosy red to black for the emo/goth look since it went better with the skin tone I was able to produce by using lots of color balance and masking. There was all sorts of weird color casts on the orginal image that required a lot of work to get one uniform color on the skin. I was forced to shoot at 1600 iso but I kind of prefer the grain. There was a chip off the front of the nose I had to repair as well.

Looking back I wish I had colored the space between the lips white to give the impression of teeth.

What do you think? From a thumbnail could this fool you? I've had 4 people already think it was a real person.

Super busy with work and packing my apartment for my move this weekend. I'll still be in the Ann Arbor area just moving to a new apartment complex. I never realized just how much camera stuff I have. The majority of my boxes are related to my digital and film gear. I have a bunch of weddings to shoot this August and September with a fellow photographer, that should be an experience!

I finally get to use my Key Green Back Drop / White and Black backdrops at my new place again. I'm really going to try this winter to create some crazy images with that Green Screen.
