Sadly, we had to pay a visit to the cemetery in Atlit (10 Km south from Haifa, quite far away from home). The place is pastoral surrounded by the sea, water enclosures and a salt factory. We got there too early for the burial so I decided to take a walk with my camera and kill some time.
Besides the picture of the dreamy old path (posted in a different section), I managed to take this picture of a gull. I bearly got away from there in one piece. This bird spotted me taking pictures of his pond and decided to make a point. It started by flying over me crying things I don't dare to repeat. Then it took some altitude and came back straight at me at full speed. The bird was loaded and deployed a couple of charges with good aim. One poop projectile passed right by my head and another one hit my leg. But I was fearless, I confronted, it kept my post and took the picture! I know it is not of high quality, but I had to go and attend to more serious matters and left it at it. For the next time, HOW ON EARTH DO YOU TAKE GOOD PICTURES OF CONTENTIOUS BIRDS? Any suggestions will be appreaciated. ![]() EXIF data: Camera: Canon PowerShot SX100 IS Exposure: 0.001 sec (1/2000) Aperture: f/5.6 Focal Length: 38.9 mm ISO Speed: 200 Exposure Bias: 0 EV

Funny Story! You did well to stand your ground; I've taken quite a few gull shots and have never been attacked, The secret is to act like your ignoring them and them when they fly by Snap!!!!! Actually the real secret is patience and a good telephoto lens.
Thanks for the Laugh Michael.
