Yesterday I was driving down a dirt road at dusk, when out of the corner of my eye I saw a grouse coming toward the car. I stopped so I would not run over it and it stopped right below my door. My camera was in the backseat and I had to get out to get it. As I was getting my camera and one of the telephoto lenses I was hoping the grouse would stay nearby. I turned around and the grouse was at my feet, too close for the lens I selected. I changed lenses to the 18-55mm and the grouse started to attack me. I could not get far enough away to get it in focus. At one point it even rushed up and pecked the camera. As I drove off the grouse ran after me. Now that was a grouse with a lot of moxie.

What a Great story and what neat pictures. I think if it was me, I would have taken his picture and then invited him home to dinner, although it's probably a she and she had a nest close by.
Thanks for Sharing these Michael.

That is funny. She/he was surely feeling threatened and was letting you have it. I wish I could have gotten pics of the event.
I have never seen a grouse, good pics considering your situation. Thanks for the smile.

Thanks everyone for viewing and your comments. Mike I don't think I did anything, I think it just hates Fords and Ford owners, from the way it attacked the car. I thought it might have young, but never saw any.
