Default faerie finds in the forest....

Faeries are most likely found in forests, meadowlands, near streams and brooks, caves, jungles, and parks. Signs that a faerie may be near include the following: feeling as if someone is watching you when you see no one there, feeling as if an insect is touching you when it appears that there isn't one there, a wonderful fragrance, hushed giggling, distant glowing objects.
Faerie rings usually consist of mushrooms or rocks in a circle. Faerie rings are places where faeries rejoice and dance in circles when no one else is around.

While on an assignment photographing volunteers erecting a new fence in a local dog park, the sun streaking through the trees bathed these in swathe of light. I could not resist a photograph or two ... something different, enjoy and dream of faeries.

Hello my dear friend ... hope everything is ok with your Barb .. these are very common in the tropics (South Pacific Area) .. and my mom always tells us not to step on any of them .. if we do, that person has to give up his or her bed to the fairy .. thanks for invoking such happy memories .. nice to see you again

I was wondering just the other day where you were....I've been missing your posts. I love the textures you've captured on these mushrooms...or are those faerie handholds?

"I do believe in fairies, I do, I do" from Peter Pan. I love that part of the movie as do my two girls. I can picture them there. Great work.

Genie, you write so well. Your images, mental and visual, are so vivid, I'm surprised you can't spot a delightful little winged creature peering behind these mushrooms. However, I do feel as though I am being watched and there is a slight chill in my spine. I do hear a gentle noise but that is just my cat snoring. Lovely.

Thank you Leona, I am almost tempted to go back and capture the scene this time with the dark forest and rays of light striking those huge caps.

Thank you Hayward. Love your story, that is one I have not heard. Remember though you have to tip toe very carefully past a ring of mushroom because if the faeries capture you, they will draw you into their merriment and circle. You will sing and dance with glee for what may seem to you like a few minutes that in reality is actually a few years!

Thank you Mike, from the size I would say these are actually gnome houses and faerie playgrounds

Thank you Patrick, what can I say, the opportunity presented itself and I had to make the most of it. I doubt anyone noticed as I was walking around taking photographs at different angles and of many different things. For these I actually lay flat on the ground, good thing the dog park has a strictly enforced, 'pick up your doggy poop' law!

You are most welcome and thank you for the kind comments. Faeris are real I tell you, just ask my children, they used to look for them in the faerie patch in my herb garden.

Thank you, have you ever stopped in a forest, closed you eyes and just listened for them? Have you felt the brush of their wings across your cheeks, or the wind of their flight catching a strand of your hair?

Lindy my dear friend, thank you! You are being watched, can you see the eyes? No need for the slight chill, faeries are deightful creatures that bring happiness and laughter. But they are skittish and will flee and hide to avoid detection. Listen for the giggles each time you cat snores

Is that Tinkerbelle I see peeking out?

These are lovely, Barb - and I love the story to go along with them!
