Default My attempt at portraits

I am not every good at asking people if I can take their picture so this weekend I practiced on people who expect that their picture will get taken.

I loved this gal's eyes but I over exposed it so this was an attempt to save it.

The grandson

Quite honestly I would probably stink at this type of photography......I see Jeff''s work and I want to go sit at his feet and learn. At least you are branching out of your comfort zone and I commend you for that.....I'll get there eventually

I agree you did a nice job here and you should be proud of reaching out! I also have a hard time asking strangers if they mind if I take their picture. I don't know why that is so hard for me to do ( I am not that shy of a person) but I also plan to work on that.
Good work!

I would love to get into photography of people. They are such a canvas of emotion and communication in a photo.

I too would have a tough time asking someone for a photo, then I THINK if you were to sell the photo or stock it you would have to have a release, so not easy.

Do you hunt out events to do this? Some of the colours are very nice. Good job...

What a great set of pictures, sure the third one is a little over exposed, but the first two are right on the money, and you've got to be pleased with the results, and your grandson has a great smile, well done Deb

I think we all have that insecurity when we approach someone we don't know .. but you did an excellent job with these images .. no harsh shadows .. colors are very warm .. outstanding job, Deb

You caught the person in the last photo just perfect. The expression is right on

Seeing your grandson brought back a flood of memories. My son always wore his baseball cap backwards. The angle of the photo, the composition and the expression is just great. You know, you're good at portraits! Your other shots are terrific--so colorful and expressive. High five for effort. A+ for results.
