I think it qualifies as a macro shot. Very cool also.

Definitely macro... but also just a photo and not a request for critique or an illustration of a particular technique so I've shuffled it over to "Share Your Shots".

cool shot JOEC.

The best thing for me in photographs is when i have to figure out what exactly it is.. and this one does it for me.. I looked at the photo and was intrigued what it could be
then u said that its your urchin, and again i went back to the photo with the new knowledge..

I find the macro shot of it very interesting. Had me looking at it for a while trying to figure it out. Good Job.
