Default I am new to this site.

Hi all. I am what you would call a happy snapper with aspirations to become a reasonably proficient photographer. I recently upgraded to a second hand Nikon D50 from a point and shoot camera that I am trying to come to terms with. I have enclosed a photo that I took the other day at Daisy Nook country park near where I live. I heard a rustle on the far bank about 70 feet away from me and saw this fox cub staring at me. The second after I clicked the shutter, it vanished back into the undergrowth. I would welcome any comment or tips on how to improve my technique. I apologise if I have posted this into the wrong forum.

Thanks in advance. John.

Well, first welcome to DPS! Second, I don't see your photo. Read the rules and double check your steps. Once you get the hang of it, it's a piece of cake!

A neat little picture of a shy fox. In many ways thats how I felt when I made my first postings to the site.
I soon found it easy to find my way around and the members better than helpful and supportive.
So welcome meremale, I'm certain this will the first of many excellent visits here

He looks so startled. Great capture. I've only been posting here a couple of weeks myself so welcome. I am finding quite a bit of support and encouragement from the others on this site.
