Default Early morning mist and dew

A nearby pond at sunrise:

40D, 50mm, tripod and a 2 stop soft grad

A damselfly covered in dew before the sun dried it off and warmed it up:

40D, 100mm macro and tripod.

A scorpion fly surrounded by raindrops on a different day:

40D, 100mm macro and ringflash.

And a close up of another damselfly:

(click the last one for a 1000 pixel version)
40D, MP-E 65mm, extension tubes and ringflash (shot at about 6.3x lifesize).

Comments welcome.

This is a great set. I am not fond of bugs, but the dew drops on the spine of the damsel fly are great, actually all the dew drops are beautiful. And I have never seen... nor do I want to.....a scorpion fly. He looks like he could cause some pain!

Although the name might suggest otherwise scorpion flies are actually harmless....the 'pincers' on the back are the male's genitals. They are often quite shy creatures but the one I found that day was rather friendly....

And another one for the detail lovers...

(click for larger)
That one is a crop of snipe fly shot at 5:1.

Thanks for looking
