Default Birds and cricket (not Jiminy)

Sorry I haven't been around much recently but between work, family and a little sicky last week I haven't had a lot of time.

Had a day out at Bakewell with the family last Saturday and have only just got round to processing some shots.

We fed the ducks

Duck

Feed me now

and the swans

Swan

and watched the cricket for a while

Cricket

Then I played in the park with Ellie for an hour. I'm only just recovering now. Where do four year olds get all that energy?

Oh and I saw these and thought of Fred Flyfisher

For Fred 1

For Fred 2

which aren't great quality but I thought he'd like the subject matter.

And now I'd better put the laptop away and go and get ready for todays wedding arriving. See you later.

Nathan, I hope you're soon fully on the mend. In your first photos, you did such a nice job with the irridescent quality of the green feathers. That is just delightful! The swan is very elegant, too. Regarding four year olds. Where DO they get the energy? On the plus side. I get my best sleep when I visit the kids. They wear me out completely. Welcome back.

Like the birds but love the cricket better

I love cricket pictures, Bill was the last one to post if memory serves and this one is a joy;
looks like the ball was keeping a little low and I love the anticipation in the fielder at point

And of course the clear link to at least two of the other pictures is when a bouncer is bowled = duck

Thanks Lindy, it was just a rather nasty 48 hour tummy bug but all five of us in the house had it.

Groan!

Thanks Beach! When I get time I have the second shot where the ball went by him. I'll try and add it tomorrow. Unfortunately, at the moment I only seem to get a few minutes at the laptop at any one time, just time for a quick few some of the latest posts and little time to comment.

Nathan, you really made my day. Thank you. I was really enjoying your set. Beautiful duckies and swan, then I saw the fish.... Thanks buddy! I wish we could bottle some of that 4 year old's energy. I could use some, LOL!

You're welcome Fred. I saw those trout? and I just thought Fred should be here (although it is in the town centre and I think breadcrumbs would work better than flies. These are lazy fish ). And it was a chance to play with my CP filter.

Tarts? No tarts in Bakewell Douglas. What you get there is an original Bakewell Pudding. Bakewell tarts are an abomination invented by Softie Southerners.

Thanks for the comment.

Nathan deGargoyle,

Something I learned a while back: Being sick is so unhealthy! When you can't get out as often, it makes each shot a little more important, doesn't it? Looks as if you have remembered and done everything right in these - hope we'll see the 'bearded one' more often now.
